LITTLE WHITE SCHOOL MUSEUM RECEIVES A PULPIT

The Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist in Oswego recently donated an old pulpit from the building to Oswego`s Little White School Museum.  The pulpit is believed to be the original one installed at the Church of the Good Shepherd when the building was completed in 1896 at Washington and Madision Streets in Oswego.  This pulpit was delivered to the museum in late November and it will be used as a podium in the museum`s main meeting room.    The Church also donated a large Christmas tree that they were no longer using.

Watercolor Workshop
This workshop is for those with previous Watercolor experience and will be held on Saturday, February 28th 10:00 am - 3:00 pm; be here at 9:30 am to get ready.  Cost:  $60, supplies not included; light lunch included.

 OSWEGO FAMILY YMCA "BASIC TRAINING" CLASS

Oswego Family YMCA offers 12-week "Basic Training" class to YMCA Members.  Your New Year`s resolution can be achieved here!  Join our 12-week "Basic Training" class to lose inches, gain energy and build confidence.  You too can be a part of the excitement.  To join, you need to make sure you are ready to make the huge commitment to change your lifestyle.  You`ll be working out 3 times a week for 75 minutes a day, monitoring your calories, and will have the support of other program participants and qualified YMCA staff to help you achieve your goals.  If you are ready to make this commitment while having fun, then you are ready for "Basic Training."  Price includes, group fitness instructor certification, fat calibration, strength and flexibility test and experience many great work outs!  At the end of the 12 week class you will be evaluated again so you can see the results achieved.  The class starts on January 5, 2009 and is held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 5:30 - 6:45 a.m.  Class is offered to YMCA members only.  Cost is $200.  For more information or to register, call Bridget Lee at 630-551-0797.  Oswego Family YMCA is located in Mason Square at 1224 Douglas Rd.

 LITTLE WHITE SCHOOL MUSEUM - HISTORY`S MYSTERIES

Take a trip down memory lane with your child.  Have you ever wondered what people did for fun a hundred years ago or what the Village of Oswego looked like before paved streets and electricity?  Solve these mysteries and more as you play old-fashioned games, touch fossils, and tour the museum.  You will then assist your child with making a special poster or newspaper page to recap historical events.  Class fee is per person.  Both parent and child need to register.  Age:  5 and up.  Saturday, Jan. 31 4 - 5:30 pm  $ 5 (Reisidents)/$9 (Non-Residents).  Presenter is Mary Therriault.

FREE SEMINAR ON HAVING A GERIATRIC SPECIALIST OVER A FAMILY PRACTICE PHYSICAN

Thursday, February 19th, 2009 from 6 - 7 pm at BICKFORD ASSISTED LIVING AND MEMORY CARE, 3712 Grove Rd, Oswego.  All area seniors and caregivers are invited to meet Geriatrician Dr. Bhavesh Gandhi.  Caregivers and family members, join us for a free seminar with Dr. Gandhi, MD of Provena Medical Group as he presents the benefits to having a Geriatric Specialist over a Family Practice Physican.  Dr. Gandhi will help us understand what a geriatrician offers patients as well as some of the conditions a geriatrician might address.  Call Jean Conner for more information at 630-554-8811.  Dr. Gandhi is on staff at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, and is office is located at 24012 W. Renwick in Plainfield.  He completed his residency in Family MEdicine at St. Micahel Hospital in Milwaukee, WI and completed his fellowship in Geriatrics at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI.  Dr. Gandhi and his Social Worker work side by side with their patients and families to provide a comprehensive range of geriatric care focused on addressing the complex needs of older adults.

CORE FOUR BUSINESS PLANNING ESSENTIALS
