Oswego Businesses Pulling Together #OswegoStrong

COVID-19 is having a major impact on Oswego.  As a community comprising many small businesses, we are profoundly affected by the current economic circumstances.

We also are, and always will be, a community that cares and looks out for one another. We’ve organized a directory of Oswego businesses and organizations facing difficult disruptions. We encourage Oswegoans to refer to it and shop locally as we pull through this time together.

Your Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce is here to help support you during this challenging period. If you are a Chamber business that is contending with recent developments, please share your announcement or update with us.

COVID-19 Announcement:

EDIT: We closed the link after reaching 50 orders. The link below won't allow you to order.

Okay - after much thought and consternation, here is what we have to offer. We just first ask for everyone to be patient and reasonable as we work through this day by day and week by week. I will say we are very concerned about the threat of the virus and that is why we are changing how we do things this week. We are limiting our exposure to people and hope that everyone can respect other people's space during the pickup process. We felt comfortable how we ended the week with orders only. There were maybe 1-3 customers in the store at any one time. We had big lines the weekend before and could have done that again Saturday by allowing walk-ins, but chose not to expose people to that. In doing so, we cut our own sales by 60% from the weekend before. We felt like it was the responsible thing to do and we feel good that we were able to complete almost every order we accepted.

Moving forward, we want everyone to understand that the situation is very FLUID and can CHANGE AT ANY TIME depending on announcements and availability of our product. You will be pre-paying for a bundle. Items may be substituted if necessary or we will refund the missing portion if that is your desire. We will make it right with you, so please work with us.

If you don't have immediate needs, please wait until later in the week to order. We want everyone to have access, but we want to make sure that we are getting product to people who maybe didn't get an order in the end of last week because we cut off orders. Please determine your need and wait if you have product to last a few or several days.

R Cooper Family Farms LLC has partnered with us to provide their WONDERFUL eggs for each bundle. We normally offer their eggs. They are also a great option for meat if you need another source. They have told their chickens to lay LOTS of eggs, but in the event that not enough are supplied, the bundle will be changed. We are very thankful for their inclusion in the bundle!!

We know this won't be everyone's perfect bundle, but we need to see a number of things. How many people are going to order? Can we keep up with the number of bundles? Will product availability not be a challenge? Will the pickup process work? Lots of questions that we have been bouncing off each other. Our plan is to get started and then continue to add more options to the main bundle besides bacon as we go. We hope to add options for ribeyes, pork chops, maybe our pasta, and more.

We have developed a google form that you can fill out to order the bundle. You have the option to add a pound of bacon. We have a spot for comments. Please tell us which other items you would like offered in future bundles. Any other ideas you can private message to us. After you submit your response, there will be a confirmation page with two links to pay. Please click on the appropriate link (bacon or no bacon). This is done through PayPal. Not sure if this also gives you the option to use Venmo during checkout. We are learning about this whole process.

We are only taking the first 50 orders for tomorrow to see if we can get that many done. We will work on these tomorrow morning and have pickup start at 2:00 and run through 6:00. We will explain that process in a different post. Then tomorrow night we will open the form again with or without changes. Thank you to all as we start this process
