COVID-19 Announcement – Oswego Businesses Pulling Together #OswegoStrong

Oswego Businesses Pulling Together #OswegoStrong

COVID-19 is having a major impact on Oswego.  As a community comprising many small businesses, we are profoundly affected by the current economic circumstances.

We also are, and always will be, a community that cares and looks out for one another. We’ve organized a directory of Oswego businesses and organizations facing difficult disruptions. We encourage Oswegoans to refer to it and shop locally as we pull through this time together.

Your Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce is here to help support you during this challenging period. If you are a Chamber business that is contending with recent developments, please share your announcement or update with us.

Young Life

COVID-19 Announcement:

The White House has recently changed guidelines to no more than 10 people gathered together through the end of March. In the U.S., Young Life is following the same guidelines – please keep groups below ten, and practice handwashing, etc., as you’re together.

Temporary restrictions, effective 3/15/2020

In a message to all Young Life staff, President Newt Crenshaw has announced the following temporary measures:

Beginning Sunday, March 15 through Friday, April 3, 2020, the following restrictions will be in place:

Young Life business travel will be canceled or postponed.
All clubs in the U.S. are canceled.
Also in the U.S. we will not hold any large group gatherings (defined as 10 people or more unless local restrictions further limit group size).
As we continue to monitor the nature of this outbreak, we will determine whether and how long to extend these restrictions and whether there are other steps we can take in the interest of those in our community and public health in general.

In the meantime, our staff and volunteers will look for opportunities to remain in communication with the young people we serve, whether via social media or in small group settings (in accordance with guidance from local health officials, common sense and parents’ wishes).
