Bristol Veterinary Clinic

Bristol Veterinary Clinic, Ltd. is a full-service veterinary clinic located at 2271 Orchard Rd in Oswego. BVC offers superb full service general practice medical care for all dogs and cats and high-level reproductive services for ethical dog and cat breeders. Our mission is to promote and safeguard the human-animal bond through personal relationships with clients based upon mutual respect and education facilitating superior medical care of our beloved animal companions and working partners.

Bristol Veterinary Clinic is owned and operated by Kate Player, D.V.M., a third-generation resident of Oswego. She grew up witnessing her Orthopaedic surgeon father (J.S. Player, M.D.), and her Family Medicine grandfather (E.W. Lowry, M.D) serve the public as respected physicians in their fields of practice in the Oswegoland area since 1952. She was also heavily influenced by the first Oswego veterinarian Howard O. Koch, D.V.M.: He was a huge part of why she became a veterinarian, and she loved him like her third grandfather.

Dr. Player is a 2011 University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine graduate. She started in traditional general practice before transitioning to reproductive, relief and high quality, high volume spay/neuter practice in the area. Dr. Player enjoys general practice and is a proficient surgeon, having completed more than 40,000 surgeries to date, and is well versed with the nuances of breeding management of purpose bred dogs. She emphasizes responsible, ethical breeding of purpose bred and purebred dogs and cats. Dr. Player is dynamic and passionate and is beloved by her lovely clients and happy patients.

Dr. Rowlett is a 2011 Ross University graduate and has been in general practice since graduation.  She then worked as the medical director of a high-end corporate practice in Bolingbrook since 2016. Dr. Rowlett enjoys general practice and is adept at complicated dental cases and excels in the medical management of complex disease processes. She, too, emphasizes responsible, ethical breeding of purpose bred and purebred dogs and cats. Dr. Rowlett is sweet and personable and beloved by her wonderful clients and happy patients.

Lauren is a 2019 NIU graduate. She worked with Tails Humane Society in Dekalb for eight years, growing from an animal care technician to an Animal Care Supervisor and then the Shelter Clinical Director and lead Veterinary Technician. She is enthusiastic, kind, compassionate and possesses an undying love of all animals and an earnest desire to help the people who love them.

Megan has been a veterinary technician since 2011. She is a kind and compassionate, adept at a variety of skills needed to be an outstanding care provider. Megan has a calm and quiet demeanor eager to listen and help. Amongst her other skills, Megan is a certified Ultrasound Technician capable of providing high level abdominal ultrasound evaluations for submission for Board-Certified Radiologist review.

Mackenzie and Audrey are in school to become Certified Veterinary Technicians. They are eager, kind, and compassionate members of Bristol Veterinary Clinic. Mackenzie has been in the veterinary field since 2020 and she is the wizard behind BVC’s social media presence. She is studying for the VTNE Board Exam and preparing to graduate from JJC in May 2024. Audrey is in her first year at Rockford Career College and discovered her love of Veterinary Medicine while working at Tails Humane Society in Dekalb with Dr. Player and Lauren.
